Enjoy The Season

I was driving Shane to school today (it's his 11th birthday), and he was wriggling in anticipation of all the birthday surprises he's going to get today and at his party this weekend. He was so excited he barely noticed that it was only 39 degrees, when he's usually pretty sensitive to the cold. All of a sudden, he realized we weren't moving yet as I waited for the warming car to defog the windshield. Look at that, he pointed out. The frost was making beautiful, cracking, snowflake patterns on the windshield.Trust a kid to notice the beauty around him even while his mind is racing on about his birthday. Let's take a moment today in the frenetic energy of the holiday season and just breathe in the beauty of the nature around us.
