Loving the Fall
Fall is my favorite time of year. It's not only beautiful and full of natural warm color as the leaves turn; but it brings pumpkins, holidays, and good cheer. The most important reason to love Fall, however, is because it brings my attention to the ephemeral quality of life.
Life is fragile, life is beautiful. And life is fleeting. There is something especially poignant in looking at the face of a child and the face of a grandmother and seeing the inevitable march of one phase of life toward the other.
We are each here, for a remarkably short time, to live and breathe, to run and play, to rest and (eventually) to pass. Fall is a wonderful reminder to seize the day and be grateful for every last moment of it!
