Yin Yang

It's impossible to look at a flower like these dahlias and not see the existence of math and science alongside the organic fluidity of nature. Everything is a yin-yang mixture of order and chaos in this world, even a flower; even ourselves. Because we are a blend of intellect and emotion, strategy and impulse, we are complex creatures.

Therefore, it is impossible to gather a few facts about a person (even quite a few) and assume that you know the entirety of what makes them who they are. It's easy to leap to judgment. We criticize ourselves freely, so why not others?

And yet, when we fossilize a person and their routine behaviors in our minds, we limit their ability to show up for us in any other than the expected (and reviled) manner. Leave some room for their complexity and you may be shocked at what comes forward.
