4th Of July
Last night I enjoyed a novel experience: listening to the SF Symphony play beautiful music while watching fireworks at the Shoreline Amphitheatre. It was lively and beautiful, but it especially brought home for me how much I truly love where I live and the country I was born in. Regardless of politics, social ills, corporate corruption, etc., etc., etc; there is a unity I feel among all of the other souls born and raised on this soil beside me. The 4th of July celebrates our country's beginnings, but I think it's more than time to celebrate our core commonality as a people - letting go of the focus on our differences and focusing on the fact that we are brothers and sisters in land, language, history, and custom. Let's act like it.
