Friends Forever

A dear friend of mine who retired to Oregon is in town for a visit this week and I will be seeing him soon. Just the thought fills my heart with gladness and contentment. It will be so much fun to chat and catch up on our lives in person.

I have known him for 30 years, but even the first day we met I felt it. You know...That connection....when you see someone and your heart immediately says "There you are! Where have you been?" And you know that you will become lifelong friends.

For me, this is one of the profound indications that we live more than one lifetime. That instant knowing that here is someone you already have a relationship with; that you will enjoy spending time with whenever and wherever you can.

I found a "brother from another mother". Sometimes these connections are that of a sister, grandparent, dear friend, business partner, or lover. What they all have in coming is the spark of true essence connection.

It reminds me that this lifetime is not the only game we play. We've been around this block and we will roll around it again until our higher self feels complete. Meanwhile, what greater pleasure than to reconnect with people we have loved forever?
