Greed Can Slide to Self-Destruction

These two icons passed away this week, each leaving their lifetime earlier than expected.

They were famous for capitalizing on their Moving Centeredness in a society that mostly honors the Intellectual and Emotional Centers (unless you’re an athlete).

Anne Burrell chose cooking while Hulk Hogan chose wrestling, but both maneuvered their way into social media prominence.

In our Teaching, they were also both wrestling with the Obstacle of Greed. When most people hear the word Greed, they think of hoarding wealth or devouring food. Greed is a much more sophisticated lesson than that.

It creates a sense of emptiness, yearning, and a longing to be fulfilled or satisfied. When the person experiencing it keeps tossing money, fame, success, relationships and accomplishments into the void and find that they Still never feel satisfaction…they slide from Greed to Self-Destructive behavior.

Taking risks, abusing substances, flirting with addictions to alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, sex, gambling, etc. …and falling into depressions, anger, or sadness may arise. Eventually, the person finds a pathway to self-fulfillment through therapy, spiritual healing, and self-love or comes to a crisis point and completes the lifetime to start over.

If you ever wonder why billionaires keep doing everything they can to make even more $$ than they could ever hope to spend, that’s a Greed issue. Useful to see it in today’s society.
