This is so important to remember. Our souls know that life is infinite and inclusive, so once we meet and like or learn to love someone it feels like we should stay close and intimate forever. And at the soul level that is true.
But this is the physical plane and we have finite limitations. Only so many hours of our day can be dedicated to staying current and engaged with others, and even the most extroverted have limits on time and energy.
Because we instinctively know this, we weave in and out of intimacies our entire lifetime. Weaving in feels natural. Weaving out feels unnatural even if it feels like the right move.
Once we understand that our Higher Selves are orchestrating this dance, it is easier to remember that it is a temporary and finite part of the physical experience.
That doesn’t make loss of a loved one easy, but it does create understanding and helps us to remember that no one is ever truly lost…they may just be sitting out a few hands of this particular game.
