Assertion Mode

Assersion Mode is a proactive modality that goes directly for its goals in a straight line with a take-no-prisoners attitude. There is no one better at ferreting out workarounds than a person in Assertion Mode.

If this is your Mode you were born with a great deal of self-confidence and assurance that you are up to the task whatever the task may be. You are usually on top of your game, clever, an excellent problem solver, and tend to have better-than-usual intellectual skills or physical agility, sometimes both.

Olympians, professional sports stars, CEOs, and surgeons are all frequently in Assertion Mode. They give themselves little to no room for failure and tend to be perfectionists. They also have little sympathy for whining or for people making excuses for their incompetence. If you just want to dial in your day, you do not want an employer in Assertion Mode. They will ride you hard and dump you out of your job if you don’t snap to it.

That being said, most Assertion Mode folk learn at a very early age that a pleasant demeanor convinces others to behave the way you want much more readily than crankiness; therefore, they tend to lean into a natural charisma that goes along with being talented and on top of their game. Assertion people are very charismatic; it is easy for them to develop quite a following of adoring fans, especially if they find themselves experiencing fame or notoriety.

There is nothing an Assertion Mode person hates more than to be painted into a corner and not allowed any leeway to excel. This pushes them into their polar opposite Mode of Perseverance, and they will slog away, long and hard, to get themselves out of an untenable position. Their memories are long, and if you have trapped them in such a way, they will ultimately not only escape but either separate themselves from you and the situation as soon as possible or have their revenge. Don't mess with Assertion Mode, you won't like the fallout, but boy o boy are they charming!
