One of the things that happens as the days get shorter and the nights grow longer is that we get a chance to rediscover how much we love the night, the moonscape, and (if we pay attention) the vision of our own dark side.
We all have a lot going on instinctively and unconsciously that rarely comes to the surface. Some of this we live in blissful ignorance of. Some is deliberately suppressed so that we can let our civilized side rule the inner animal nature.
Fall, as we slide on down to Halloween, gives us an opportunity to peek inside and see what our dark side is up to. It's worth a look. What we ignore can run us without us even realizing it.
