It's very easy to get caught up in self centered behavior. After all, we come here each lifetime to grow and educate that part of the Universal Consciousness that resides inside of us. How can we Not focus on ourselves and our progress? Most days wind up being a series of checking in moments: how am I doing? What next? What the heck do I do with that? This is normal. But self-centeredness can easily lead to selfishness and a lack of empathy.
What to do? It helps to take a few deliberate moments each day to simply step back into an overview perspective of not just ourselves, but the entire ecosystem of which we are a small part. For me, looking at the moon and stars and contemplating the size of the Universe is a start. Feel free to give it a try. Remembering that we are all part of a grand mechanism, and that we are not the center of the Universe is wonderful for true balance.
