"Do you think God is ticklish?" asked Nick. I had to ponder what to respond to this. Did I talk about Consciousness having no physical body? Was it time to address his perspective of what God means to him? Those seemed heavy topics for a walk in the park.
"I don't know," I answered truthfully, "though I'd like to believe that there's a good sense of hu
mor out there somewhere in the Universe. How about we check it out?" I looked at all of the goodies he had collected on ourwalk and picked out a feather. "Here...give it a shot."
He reached up towards to clouds and tickled away with the feather. "How can I tell?"
"Well, do you hear anything? Is God laughing?"
"I hear laughing on the inside, but I can't tell if it's me or God."
"Well, honey, since you and God are all part of the same Universe, I guess God is ticklish."
"Good," he said, and walked off satisfied. Somehow the thought of a deity laughing away as a feather tickled his clouds made my day a little sweeter.
